With Apple’s launch of the newest version of the Macbook Pro last week, some are worried about what this means for Project Rome – formerly Google Talk. However, The Verge is reporting that a Google employee offered evidence that the chat app is still alive and well on the platform. The email reportedly states that Google’s Voice product team is working on both project Rome and Project Manhattan. Many theories have developed since last week’s announcement Facebook-like social search and putting the rest of Conversea in music, but a new rumor explains what they are exactly doing.
Google is also apparently working on an update to Maps that will arrive with iOS 5 this fall.
Google Chat App Moves From Windows To Mac
Google recently announced that their chat app, Google Chat, is moving from Windows to Mac! This move makes perfect sense as macOS has been consistently gaining in popularity and Google is serious about their customer experience. The transition has already begun and users can start using the new Google Chat on their Macs through the App Store. Web Chatting: Jenny Almeida and Ted Kroll Join GChat. Many of our customers have expressed that they would like to be able to have a one-to-one chat or meeting with their clients over the Web. While originally we wanted to make it so that users could call into the App, we are seeing (with your feedback) that even those that can phone in know how much easier it is talking directly through the Web application instead. Google Chat App is moving from Windows to Mac. The new app will offer improvements including a notifications panel, file type detection, inline images and videos, 1-1 chats and group chats. When the new app launches, you will be able to download it from the Microsoft Store. Until then, you can still access and use the built-in Google Chat in both Chrome and Edge.
