Google services experienced a service disruption this morning, but the search giant said access has since been restored.
According to the Google Apps Status Dashboard, Gmail, as well as Google Drive, Documents, Spreadsheets, and Presentations were hit with unexplained interruptions betwee 9 a.m. and 9:15 a.m. Eastern.
“We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience and continued support,” the company wrote on the Apps Status Dashboard. “Please rest assured that system reliability is a top priority at Google, and we are making continuous improvements to make our systems better.”
In a statement to PCMag, Google said it will post the root cause of the issue on its App Status Dashboard once the team has completed its investigation. “In the meantime, for everyone who is affected, we apologize,” the statement said. “We know you count on Google to work for you and we’re working hard to restore normal operation for you.”
Meanwhile, the admin control panel/API was knocked offline around 9 a.m., affecting what Google said is a “significant subset of users.” It was resolved around 11 a.m., Google said. .
The Web giant is no stranger to outages. Just last month, Google Drive experienced a 2.5-hour service disruption, rendering the online file storage site inaccessible from about 10:15 a.m. to 12:35 p.m. Eastern.
Another outage struck Gmail and the search company’s Chrome browser in December, providing spotty email service and browser crashes for a number of users. Google later reported that the Chrome issues were a result of a glitch with its Sync server.
