Cerritos, California-based scanner manufacturer Plustek has announced a partnership with gDocScan that will allow Plustek’s MobileOffice and SmartOffice scanners to scan and index documents directly to Google Docs. Owners of Plustek scanners must buy the gDocScan program to enable such scanning
Plustek’s MobileOffice and SmartOffice series scanners already have Plustek’s DocAction one-touch scanning utility, which will allow them to interface with gDocScan with a single touch button once the gDocScan program is installed.
gDocScan document management software, developed by Executive Technologies, Inc., is a commercial application that scans to Google Docs and also enables compound and Boolean searches of Google Docs. This reduces time spent finding, copying and organizing paper and digital documents by organizing them with user-defined indexes. Pricing for gDocScan depends on the number of scanners it will be used on, and the type of scanner.
According to Plustek, gDocScan is particularly suited to organizations with multiple locations or professionals in the field because it allows for scanning from the multiple locations to the Google Cloud where anyone can search and view the documents.
