Why did Google replace the classic Hangouts application?
Google is replacing its old version of Skype, called Windows Hangouts and Linux Hangouts, with a newer Google version: Google Now. It’s software that is similar to Siri or the Amazon Echo. For example, Google Now gives the user card details on their birthday. That’s pretty !
There are indications that Google Now already has apps that can provide users with a smartphone or TV audience. For example, in the Google Now application on Android devices there is the option to show a private speaker to a phone user. However, there are no explicit details regarding what the private speaker should look like and how to operate it. Therefore be careful – and only experiment with new ideas.
How to delete the old hangouts and install everything new
Most Linux and Windows users complained that Google’s voice and video calling system, Hangouts, was constantly crashing for them. After months of waiting, the wait is finally over and Google has released the Reply app to replace the old Hangouts. Although more simplified and designed for mobile, computer users need to make some alterations too in order to use it on their machines. The first thing users will notice when they download the Reply app is that they now have a microphone icon with a note bearing “Okay Google” where is used to be down to the bottom left hand corner of your screen. This change turns all conversations from looking like strangers chats to only seem natural by adding that it’s just all done with voice first. For phone users, you will also notice that the dial pad is missing from the main screen and instead sees two buttons to start your old way and continue chatting with your recently used contacts through the Hangouts app or hit the dial pad button to call those numbers.
