For many people, the Google Calendar widget is an essential part of their day-to-day digital experience: whether they can’t remember what they have planned that afternoon, they simply want to view a digital version of their schedule, or they’re entirely too lazy to do it themselves. However, this is potentially about to change in one very significant way – the beautifully circular “Today’s Date” has no solid circle around the initial date anymore. No one knows for sure why this happened (now called “a bug in your UI,”) but those that are familiar with code might be able to discern why this changed. If you don’t know what that means, feel free to return to this page once you have made the time to brush up on that concept.
First thing’s first: the original “Today’s Date” on a Calendar Widget was circular because those days had no special properties or data associated with them. It has only been a short time since Google finalized the launch of their new pop-up Calendar widget for Google+ but on the very day it is being released, its gone! You can grab the new calendar widget from their Google Plus Profile. What Exactly Happened?
The Google Calendar Widget Disappearing Today’s Date
What exactly happened that caused the calendar widget to disappear? It remains unclear, although some people are speculating that it happened when a faulty developer call program update. I am also on a 8.0 app and when I updated my calendar to 8.1, as soon as I activated it, the widget disappeared.

With today’s release of Calendar for Android during Google I/O, we may just see it! Backup on Android is now so simple. Whether you try (and fail) to another device or restore from a backup in Google Drive or even reactivating your old phone, only 24 hours is needed to get back up and running again—if that doesn’t work, at least you know that soon you’ll have Instant Sync technology built right into your calendar. true
Should You Make a New Calendar Widget?
This morning I woke up to a lot of sour feelings get when I checked my phone and found that the calendar widget disappeared. Sometimes, this happens with widgets at random. The Google Calendar is one of the most common websites you can find these types of issues with because there are so many who use it. If you follow certain guidelines and policies, your removal problem won’t remain as a problem for very long.
